HOMESTAY/LANDING PAD APPLICATION

SPECIAL NOTE: Please be aware that as of May 1st, 2023 the monthly fee for homestay and landing pad will be $950.

Homestay requires that first and last month fee be paid on arrival.

Students and host families are matched based on the information in the Homestay Application form. You will be expected to arrive on the date stated in the form. While one or 2 days’ difference is understandable, we cannot guarantee that a difference of more than 3 days will be honored. Homestay requires a minimum of 2 weeks from date of receipt to process. If you have your visa approved and submit the application successfully, the Homestay Confirmation will be sent 3-4 weeks before your program start date. For very early arrivals, please consider:

  • Many services and campus facilities such as gym access and student insurance will not take effect until the beginning of your orientation.
  • Buy your own insurance and bus rides for prior to that period of time.
  • Plan to keep yourself busy. Use the time to learn the area and campus. Please try to avoid staying at home alone.
  • For your orientation registration and agenda please visit https://international.niagaracollege.ca/orientation/

Students should note the following:

  • be prepared to make adjustments to the host family space available
  • remember we cannot guarantee preferences will be met
  • if you wish to cancel your application please notify us at housing@niagaracollege.ca as soon as possible. You’ll find our cancelation policy in our Homestay Policy and Landing Pad Policy, depending on the program you apply for.

This includes your first month fees, and a deposit that will be held by your Homestay to pay for your last month in their home. The next Homestay fee is due on the first of the following month. You must give your Homestay family a minimum of 30 days’ notice from the first of the month before leaving your Homestay.
    • It is expected that you pay the full fee for months that include vacations when you choose to be away from your Homestay. If you are in a Homestay for extra days at the beginning or end of the month when you arrive or depart, the fee is $35 per day.
    • Your meals are included in your Homestay fee. You can expect to have evening meals with your host family, and learn about Canadian foods. You may have to prepare your own breakfast and lunch. If there are special foods you like, plan to purchase them yourself.
    • The Homestay fee includes: a private, furnished bedroom and internet connection for educational purposes and reasonable communication with your family and friends.
